CBRJ is invited to Family Week, an online series of events that will take place between 18-22 November. "Family for every child" have been working hard to create Family Week as an online space to come together and share a bit more about our contexts and work; to learn from each other; and to identify areas for future joint action. We will also commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, reflecting on both progress made, contributions and challenges ahead.

Event 1: New members, new expertise: Learn about our new members and deepen your knowledge of Family's alliance
Event number one is an internal event where attendees from the Family Alliance can learn about new members’ approaches and tools, while gaining a better understanding of our Alliance in action, our aspirations and our work. This event offers the chance for Alliance members to put questions to, and create connections with, new members including Centre for Services and Information on Disability (Bangladesh), Foundation for Innovative Social Development (Sri Lanka), Praajak (India), and KoRoot (South Korea). Joining the new members will be staff from established members and the secretariat, most notably founding member, CINDI (South Africa). CINDI will contribute reflections on how we can effectively connect and work together, and remind us who we are and what we aim to achieve. Pre-recorded presentations from participating new members will be released prior to a live Q&A to introduce their work.

Event 2: Bringing about change for Children and Families: How Family’s National Advocacy Programme is influencing Care Reform
Both Family members and external guests will be invited to event two, which focuses on Family’s National Advocacy Programme. Join Family members ChildLink (Guyana), CBRJ (Jamaica) and FOST (Zimbabwe) to discuss their advocacy work, in particular relating to children with disabilities, kinship care and reintegration. Participating panelists will provide a pre-recorded presentation on their advocacy work, drawing linkages with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and exploring calls to action. Through the live panel discussion and Q&A, Members will explore both the issues their work aims to address, within the context of the UNCRC, and consider what needs to change as we look to the future.
